    hello everyone!
i am trying to find out as much info as i can before buying my first ferrari,
my budget will allow me to buy a late 348 or early 355.
i love both but after many years of owning ducatis,i know that some models had more problems than others.
    please advice,
how many variations 348/355 and what are the differences? ts,gts, gtb etc.
which models have had recalls and which ones have been sorted?

thanks, and congrats on an exellent site!

Great summary. As for the 348 Series Speciales, remember there are 2 versions - the 1992/1993 models (100 examples) and the 1994 models (15 examples). Also, not every SS or Challenge was equipped the same, but I guess u could categorize that as options.

    Let's see, what else...
348 Challenge cars are street cars; 355's are not (unless they were converted).
348 GTB and GTS are not US models.
348 Competiziones are not US cars either, but are major lust mobiles for the Brotherhood.
    LM is a race car.
    The Mules are oddities.
    All 355 Fiorano's are Spiders.

    What'd I miss?

    1. All '94 SS's were ts's.
    2. There were two versions of the 348 challenge. Earlier converted cars and '94 factory challenge cars(32tb and 13 ts). Yes all were originally street cars and maintain a street title.
    3. Early 355C's were also converted cars. I think '95 and maybe '96 as well. There was alot more that went into the 355C and that made it much more difficult to put back on the street.

Yes but the difference is only about 20hp, and that can be fixxed with a free flow exhaust system.

The GTS/GTB was a Euro only model. The engine was designated 119H as apposed to the US tb/ts 119G. Besides the intake plenium, they had different timing, and maybe differrent cam profile. The US model for '93-94 had 312hp compared to the Euro 320hp.
