    Has anybody found a repair shop that can fix the internals of the A/C control unit. Apparently the unit is no longer available as aspare part.

    There are shops that specialize in the repair of those. I have not tried them, but a quick google search will bring them up. (try "ECU rebuilding")

    I believe Hill Engineering can have them repaired.
