Gentlemen, I have just replace the right rear bearing hub on my 94 gts and now have the yellow ABS light permanently on. I have discon the battery without effect. Is there a way to clear the fault codes or have I created a real problem.

    Thanks, Mike.

The sensor in the rr bearing hub may be improperly installed, have bad wire, or have metal shavings on it.

The sensor has some VERY thin shims under it to get the spacing right to the hub. Those have to be absolutely right - there is very little tolerence. I've got the same problem. The local Ferrari main dealer couldn't solve it - they are only fitters after all!!! So its off the the specialist to fix it in the next week or so when I can find the time. My brakes still work fine - just no ABS at the mo.

Thanks, every thing was spotless and reinstalled as before including the two clear shims. The sensor reads 1.15k ohms and the other side 1.12, so I guess it's OK.
Can anyone help with the correct clearance? I may need to adjust.
    Thanks in advance, Mike.

I bet all you need is to reset the ABS in ABS fuse box by plug in a fuse in emplty slot and removing it. I don't remember the exact detail, but I reset mine and the problem is gone. ABS has internal memory, so it won't reset by disconnecting the battery.

Here's a post from me about the ABS

Ok, found G42 in the Workshop Manual how to read the ABS ECU codes from the ABS light on the dash.

I pulled the inner tub cover to easily get to the relay/fuse block & ECU. Tip - it's easier if you pull the rubber seal running around the rim before you coax the black mat/carpet/tub out. Otherwise you'll crack the tub liner in a few places like the PO did on my car.

Then, with key out of the ignition, pop a fuse into Holder E, figure 26 (the only open fuse socket on the block)
turn the key to position I (MARCIA)
the ABS will light for 4 secs, then start blinking two digit codes just like a CEL.
To get the next code, leave the key on, and pull & reinsert the Holder E fuse again.
Repeat unti the ABS light stays lit. I only had one code, but the manual mentions that if multiple errors share the same MSD(Most significant Digit), it simply wont display the next error (if 3_1 and 3_2 and 3_3, the system will only display 3_1)
After you cycle through the errors & you have the constant on ABS lamp, button her up & go for a ride. Hit 40KPH without anymore errors & the ECU will erase it's memory.

This would be my first guess. Place a piece of clay on top of the sensors contact point to shim the distance out. Ohm out the sensor and see if it's shot. I bet you just wore through the contact surface.

Pulling ABS codes will only give you a vague idea of where the issue is. Reading the WSM will give you 10 possible causes of a single issue and is border line useless.

I did a video series on the ABS system you might want to check out. May or may not help, but one thing I go over is how to check the wave form being put out by each wheel sensor. That will give more info than just the resistance reading.

According to the workshop manual, (one of?) the power transistors relating to valve control in your ECU is faulty or the left front return valve is faulty. Check wiring to the valves and the valve resistances.

i.e. To check ECU to valve wiring (and valve resistance), check pin 16 of the Teeves ECU (in the forward luggage compartment) to earth (pin 11). If you can see the wire colour, it should be violet (purple). Compare the resistance with the other side (pin 34).

No, the ABS fault codes go away after the faulty conditions go away and you have driven the car above 30 mph. Plugging in the "test" fuse only lets it read the codes, and that may do something but it does not clear the codes.
