I have just removed my front liner trying to trace why my A/C won't work - but that's another thread.

However, I noticed that I have a fuse missing from one of my ABS relays.

These are the bank of 4 located on the ABS control unit.

The one missing is from the relay nearest to the windscreen.

    Does anyone know :-

    a) what these relays do
    b) should I have a fuse fitted and what should it be ?

    Thanks

    John

John: I read on one of the threads here that by inserting a fuse into a blank ABS fuse holder, you can somehow download fault codes in the ABS system. I looked in the WSM at the time and couldn't find any mention of it. Someone here could probably enlighten us. It's a mystery to me.

Yes. the missing fuse is deliberate. When you put one in, the abs warning lamp will flash a series of flashes to show any faults.

Ferrarifixer: The ABS flash codes are not in the WSM. Would you be willing to share the code list?

    Thanks!

It's too long to type, and I can't do the scan/photo post thing...so no, sorry.

Malcolm may be able to give it out, but it may be considered "inteleectual property" from a dealers' point of view......

You're talking about the missing blade fuse, not a whole relay, right? There on 4 relays on one side of the wheel well, and two relays on the other.

When I first pulled the carpet from my car, I noticed that missing fuse too. I think it's something like 3 amps. Anyway, since I was bored, I just shoved one in there to see what would happen. Guess what? My ABS turned yellow, then green, then it starting blinking to the beat of the Italian national anthem.

Actually, I couldn't tell any difference in my ABS light at all. I guess that means there were no faults in my system. I wonder if I could leave it in there and drive around with the fuse in place? When I first got my WSM, I was impressed with the detail. The more I learn about the car, the more I'm convinced it's a worthless document.

In my WSM I found a detailed and comprehensive explanation of how to get the failure codes from the brake ECU.

However, as FBB stated, the ABS flash codes are not in the WSM.

But the car expert which brought my Ferrari back on the road again gave me this link, where among a lot of other information the failure codes are listed (sorry, only in German):
