My ac would suddenly die while driving, and all the buttons on that console where the ac switches are would all die. My mechanic suggests I buy these digi key gold plated wire connectors to solve the problem. Is he correct? What causes this ac malfunction on the 348? Has any other 348 owner experienced this? Thanks.

Check the 30amp blade fuse hidden in the front trunk, near the ABS connections.

+348, if that doesn't work check the connector at the back of the HVAC unit in the dash. It has a terrible clasp and can fall out.

Do you get an error code on the AC display? This system is norotiously finnicky at this age.

the fuse is good to replace just for good measure, but my money says that you have a short in the panel where the buttons for the a/c are located. when it does it if the all the panel lights go out at the same time then that is your problem. that is what happened to me anyway :)

    good luck!

Mine was doing this and what was found was a short in the a/c unit and that in turn would blow the hidden fuse and then the dash would go out.
