Drove my 348 just now, though the temp herre is 37deg C, I find the car not cooling at all. Were the ac systems inefficient in hot climate. Has anyone considered any mods to the system.

I get cold air even on hot 39 C degree Alabama days in my 348 spider, just for a reference point.

You may need to clean your forward A/C intake and/or replace your drier when you recharge your system next time (but first, get your system tested).

Mine is ice cold. Literally, my feet get uncomfortably cold even on a hot, humid day in North Carolina.

I agree with these boys. Get your a/c system checked for leaks. My a/c was ice cold when i got the car 8 months ago, during our summer here which averages around 40C and gets up to 44-45C. The last 2 months, its no where near as cold as it used to be,and i have a feeling that there is a a/c gas leak. Im getting my auto-electrican mate from work to put some gauges on it to see if its down on gas a little. I have a/c gauges and can check it myself, but he has an a/c ticket(required by law here now) so ill get him to check it out for me. :)

To clean the intake and other components is the dash required to be opened or are the parts accessable from the boot. I also find that my blower does not have any air throw, seems to be blowing hard, but hardly anything through the vents.
Pls let me know. Am sending it to a shop tomm. morning

    1. In your front bumper, look deep into the cut-out on the passenger side. Make sure there are no leaves or junk stuck on the condenser.

    2. Inside the bonnet, look deep inside the airbox (right against the windscreen). Make sure the car is off, but stick your hand inside there and make sure there are no obstructions or things that fell inside. Does the recirc flap work correctly in your car? Press the button on your HVAC panel and see if it opens and closes in that airbox.

    3. You might want to pull your airvents out from the dashboard and make sure the "open/close mechanism" is indeed working correctly. With the vents removed, do you get any air coming from the dash?

The system in the 348 is pretty simple, so tracking down the problem should not be too difficult. Just be sure to only stick your hand into the bumper or airbox when the car is OFF! :)
