    Today my heating/air system went crazy on my 348.

    Only really hot air was coming out, even with the system turned off. Then the air system displayed "E5" on the digital display. When I did the little battery trick by turning the battery off and then back on, it went away :) I know, the problem probably still exists, but it's gone for now.

    Does anyone know what the error code E5 means on a 348 air system?

    I am still in the office but I will check my repair manual when I get home and I should be able to tell you what that code means. 99% sure it is in there. I put a replacement unit in mine that Martin at Cavallino got for me when I bought the car, and when I installed it I went through the whole diagnostic for the A/C unit so I am sure I have the info somewhere.

    Well I just typed a whole shedload of stuff as an edit but overran my 60 minute allotment and lost it all.

    Short answer for you is the E5 code is a fault code for the "Motor for heater valve control." If I get a chance tomorrow I will scan the relevant pages for you.
