Quick brotherhood question: are the 348 and 355 windshield interchangeable?

Also, what thickness do most of you get when replacing the stock windshield with polycarbonate: 1/4", 3/16", or 1/8"?

I am thinking about replacing mine (ugly scratches and internal delamination) but the one place only offers stock trim 355 windshields.

    Thanks,

    Kai

I think the 355 has an internal antenna for the radio and the 348 does not, but otherwise they will interchange.

Yes they are the same glass if you have a late model 348 with the antenna in the glass.

My 355 is using a 348 glass w/o the antenna. Makes plenty sense to me since I can't and don't want to hear the radio while wanting to save quite a few bucks.

So the 355 polycarbonate will fit.

    1/4"?

The rear view mirror fitting is different, which means you will need to get a 355 mirror for a 355 winshield.

This is true, but you can have a custom fitting mount created for the 348 mirror to work on the 355 windshield just fine.
Fast Cars here in Redondo Beach did this for me when I replaced my windshield and it looks perfect.
So if you go this route just contact Craig over at Fast Cars, he is on this board under Calder1.

I also need a windshield for my 355 and was planning on purchasing it from http://www.vitresdautosjutras.com since it's 20 minutes from where I live.

Not sure if it's good or not but they are from China and the price is cheap at 675$ (without antenna) once I see it and get one I will post my toughts and some pictures (I plan on going before xmas)

I was also told by a windshield replacement technician that he may be able to save the windshield trim when he changes it. Do you guys think it's possible? The trim kit from Ferrari is 1000$....

Try Eurospares. Mine was far cheaper than that though I don't remember how much. It was not a shocking number.

When you say "far cheaper" Are you refering to the windshield or the trim kit?

The trim kit. I believe the kit + the 348 screen cost just over $1.5k+ but my memory does not serve me well. Trim kit is very far from $1k for sure.
