    Hello...my money pit depletion adventure continues to get my 30 yr 348 beauty back to daily driving ease . I'm techignorant. So I went to a slightly upmarket AV installers . They have me this quote for system setup and install as per oem 348 location .
    Here's there quote . Please give me frank advice if their suggestion appear to be overkill, underkill or in line with my wishes . My wish to them was to get me atleast the sound quality of my hi end JBL unit in my 488 Spider . I'd be happy with that benchmark..
    So please have a look and let me know would be it US$3500/ - well spent ?
    Ps.why is sound deadening install so expensive AU$ 693/--- why are two different deadners needed .

    Sound deadening keeps things from rattling and vibrating with the speakers. It’s important. Installing it can be a pain because you need to remove panels. That requires care, time, and probably the replacement of a few clips. I wouldn’t install a high end system with it. More is better if you prioritize sound quality over weight.

    I’ve had a few mid-high-end systems installed. That price seems fair for what you’re getting.

    That said, I can’t think of a worse listening environment than my 348.

    I've gone through a few new head units, all in search of better sound in my 355. All sounded pretty decent while the car was parked and motor off.

    But as soon as the motor was started, the sound was drowned out and tinny. No bass at all with the motor competing for my ears.

    I finally tried a portable bluetooth speaker, and have bass, treble, and available volume capacity to hear the music even when the motor is running, and even when driving with the windows open. Thankfully I never sold the stock head unit, so now I've reinstalled the stock unit, and still have adequate tunes in the car (gf wants music, I'm usually happy to hear Maranello's symphony).

    And of course this costs next to nothing.
