    Hi everyone,

In getting familiar with my 1993 348ts (UK spec), I was reading the owners handbook and noticed that I have no earth point for connecting the battery to a charger or with another car to jump start etc. The owners manual as shown below clearly shows a connection point marked D for ground which is on the framework of the car below where the positive+ connection block is.

My car is the battery in the front version.

Anyone have the same set up and where is the missing earthing point?

I have been noticing many differences to the handbook, for example my engine cover emergency release is not under the fuel filler flap but in the passenger compartment behind the right seat.

    Many thanks:)

Isn't the earth point the stud in the middle of your photo ?

To the right of two silver hoses and the left of the electrical thing

    Hi Jimmie,

I just went and looked and yes youre spot on!

The problem is with the drawing in the owners manual. It shows that the earth connection point is on the metal pole coming down directly from the positive+ connection block.

Where as in fact the earth point you see in my photo is on a different metal pole that attaches to the suspension mount.

Thanks and appreciate it. We become blind looking for the obvious:)

Correct! And be careful should you ever get stuck and need a jump. Use the center terminal under the + cover since it goes directly to the starter. The 10 amp fuse in a stereo may pop.

    Thanks John,
That's great, I'll definitely keep that in mind.

    Cheers.
