I'm trying to split the front lower ball joint on my 348 but not 100% sure of best way to do it.

I've jacked up the entire front end (both sides) so there is no weight on any of the suspension, the castle nut has been removed and just put back loose (red arrow) and I've jacked up the suspension just slightly to apply some tension using a block of wood on a jack under the brake disc (yellow arrow).

Should I be able to just drive a fork in easily or even give the knuckle some sharp taps with a hammer where blue arrow is?

    Anyone done this successfully?

Please note I'm not removing the joint, just replacing the rubber bellow so don't want to take anything apart I dont need to.

I tried hitting the area marked with the blue arrow and it did not budge......not one bit..... for me, there was no choice but the take out/remove both joint from both arms, tie rod etc and take it to a foundry with a 10 ton press......
