just completed my first big road trip from MD to montreal and back (1200miles). going up in the group we averaged 100+ mph top speed 150ish . drivng back in the heavy downpour was tricky ,but the car handled well. and stayed dry, as long as we were moving :) i was so terrified going up that id break down, not that i ever did before , but you know the fcar cloud that hangs ...

i am extremely happy in the perforrmance, endurance, road handling , etc of my 348 !
and it feels like it runs even better now!

I felt the same way when I drove to Vegas (about a 550mi round trip)

Come to think of it, the car does run a bit better now

Congrats on the road trip. I believe......the more you drive it, the fewer problems you have.....the car wants attention.....if you don't drive it, it'll make you fix it just to get some attention!

    I agree 110%

Mine was having various electrical problems with rear lights blowing, AC system not working, clock resetting etc.

The more I drove it, the more the faults seemed to rectify themselves. Having done 5,500 miles in less than a year..... the car is virtually fault free (apart from high speed handling). :D

Every car that I have had (especially Ferraris), run better when they are driven, and usually a long trip, driven hard, blows out the cob webs. I believe that they used to call that an Italian tune up!

My first time ever in a 348 was when I drove from Detroit TO CT 1O hours in the middle of the night . Talk about nervous and tired . Had I broken down I have no clue what I would have done . The car has been great since but that was a long trip .

Great story on your trip including driving in the wet.

Can anyone advide where the water goes from the engine bay cover if the 348 is stationary in the rain?

Recently purchased my 348 at a dealer auction in Chicago and decided to drive it down to sunny Palm Beach (approx. 1200 miles). Considering this was a dealer auction, I was very limited to the history of this car and wasn't sure what I was in for. Not the smartest move by driving it down from a business point of view, but being the car nut I am, I could not of passed up this opportunity. Also, considering I had a hot, young, Brazilian woman to help me drive the car home, also made the trip easier.

Needless to say, the car ran like a champ, and when I got off the exists, the 348 was screaming for more. Unfortunately, I had a close encounter with rubber that came off a semi at a 100 miles an hour, around 1 am, close to Indianalopis. Luckily, it only shattered my left foglamp ($600 later) - I was devastated.

This 348 is in perfect running condition and is available for purchase.

I had a semi blow a tire near next to me on I5 two weeks ago - not quite 100 mph, but in a 348 spider it was still dramatic. 2,200 miles round-trip in 105-110F for much of the way. I wasn't sure Fcars could go that far from an Italian Mechanic without withdrawl symptoms.

Asking $48,900 for the car. Trying to keep the value on these cars up.

Great car - looks great and runs strong. I'm sure the new owner will be very pleased. In the mean time, I will enjoy it, shucks!

Glad you drove the car back and it was trouble free- can you post miles, condition, service history, results of PPI etc. Is the hot young Brazilian woman included.... that kind of information.
