how do I remove the trim if I want to take out the front inner boot lining. Is there a chance it can tear? how does it go back in???

do I just lift it out or do I have to work it out with somethig?

sorry, never did it before and dont want to screw it up.

    thx, Marc

    Hey Marc,

Are you referring to the rubber weatherstripping? If so, follow it around to the front of the boot and you will see a seam. You can pull it right off; you will get white residue from the glue/sealing agent that went on the lip. You can reseal it when installing it again, but it's a pretty snug fit and my experience was I didn't need to reseal it.

Once removed, take off the fuse cover panels and you will see some screws that have to be removed near the light buckets. There are also a couple of other screws in the liner. Remove the tool kit. Also remove the trim ring around the HVAC air intake. Then carefully lift the boot lining keeping an eye out for any areas of resistance that might indicate a missed screw.

yep, that is the one I am referring too... okay so it was origianally glued in. I will pull it up carefully. what is it sealed with if I wanted to seal it back up?

also any issues peeling up the HVAC rubber gasket??? I know mine is pretty soft and a little of it stuck to the hood underside at one point when I was storing the car with the hood latched down. now I store the car with the hood unlatched.

    thx again, Marc

I have no idea what it was originally sealed with, but your local auto parts place should have a generic trim/weatherstrip sealer that you can run along the lip before re-installation. I really don't think you will need it though.

Don't pull the rubber gasket off the top of the HVAC - there are 4 small screws that need to be removed and then the whole piece lifts off (there is a metal trim ring under the rubber).
