Well I finally fixed the problem I had with the electric door locks bouncing out of control sometimes. The problem started when I went to unlock my car and both door locks would go 1/2 way up then back down, continously. Then it eventually would either go all the way up or remained locked. I finally isolated it to the passenger door and If I pushed on the door, it would unlock. So somehow the latch was pushing the door out too much. After taking it apart a few months ago, I just chalked it up as being old and worn. But I never liked it. I took it apart again this weekend to try and resolve the issue, and in my case, fixed it. What I did was to reduce some of the spring pressure pushing against the latches, and that would allow the door lock to travel freely up or down when the door was closed. The spring is located in the latch as shown by the pic. I took it out by "unwinding" it out of it's little hole and then cutting about a third of it off and putting it back in. Just make sure you don't cut too much off, because then your door won't latch. This is a very brief discription here, but if you want any more info, pm me and I'll explain it further. I'm not sure if this will fix anybody else's lock problems, but it did mine. Image Unavailable, Please Login
