OK guys...I've narrowed the tire choices down to these two. Which is a better brand in your opinion and why?

Michelin in general I like better than the Bridgestones as I think they are more responsive.

Auto Motor und Sport is the biggest and most serious car magazine in Germany.
Every year they have a huge "best tire" comparisation...
They did it this time (2005) in the 225/45-17.

Check it out. Although in german you'll get it...

I drive 60.000 km a year with my Audi quattro for the company, and a lot on the Autobahn in Germany.
I've tried a lot of tires the last years.

Believe me, nothing beats the Conti Sport Contact..

I have just put on four Pirelli Asymetric. Better than my old Bridgestones, but maybe because they were 15 years old !

Pirelli recommended to me the "Pirelli System" which is assymetrico's and Pzero directionale's (from memory). This is what I run on my GTC. Apparently it improves the handling. Hard to tell as my fronts were 15 years old too. Seems people in Ferrari-land don't need to change their tyres with age. ;)

Car and Driver, I think (one of the magazines in US), did a similar test. Goodyears came out on top. Michelins ranked 3rd or 4th. Perrelli and Bridgestone were middle of pack. Yokohama's and Continetal did well. Top 5 were very similar.

I went with Michelin's because they had 18 in. size I was looking for. They were 2lbs. less per tire than same size Goodyears. I would have gone with Yokohama's because had good experience in past, but did not carry size in Advan series.
