Hi friends, Tomorrow, I'll have to remove the two bumpers of my 348tb. I took the decision to respray the car and the specialist ask me a little help. (bumpers, door panels, etc....) I know there are some screws on the wheels sides ( so 2 for the front and 2 for the rear). But I don't know of there more fixing points????? Could you help me? regards Marc
There are four more large anchor points inside the rear compartment just offset side-to side from the middle of the bumper. These are the major fixing points. It's easy to do and easy to find the nuts. If you need a factory shop manual for your 348, let me know, I have a set of manuals and a parts catalog I can sell you, as I just sold my 348ts recently, and no longer need it. If you are interested, shoot me a PM.
Thank you Tim, I've got to workshop manual, but there is nothing about the bumpers . To unscrew the four fixing point you explained, For the front may I have an acces from to luggage compartment? For the rear, how can I have an acces? thanks Marc
Ok on the rear you have to remove the exhaust cover. Then you can acces the 4 nuts on the middle of the bumper. Also the heatshild is connected with screws under the bumper many small ones. Then you have behind the rear wheels on each side two nuts. So a total of 8 big nuts holding the bumper on front and rear. Also you have to disconnect the cable from the lights in the rear bumper. On the front you have to remove the carpet inside the trunk. It has several screws arround it. If you have it out you got the same 4 nuts like on the rearbumper there and 2 in the wheel area on each side. Then you can move it a bit to reach the connectors from the lights in the bumper. disconnect these two on each side. They are round and have a red and yellow plastik clip arround it.
As Samy suggested, you need to remove the carpet liner in the trunk, first you need to pull the weather strip before the carpet comes out. If I remember correctly, there may be rubber "stops" that you need to pull out to expose the nuts for the bumper.
