Just a quick call out for info. I was digging through the shop manual but it's easier to ask. The housings that the cam seals ride in have an internal groove for oil delivery to the seals. I lined that up with the holes the heads as it looks correct judging by RTV on the O-rings. Someone say this is correct.

    Mark -

Does your carrier have the weep hole already drilled in it? Before you button it up, this might be the time to do the FNA update and help prevent any future cam-seal leaks. I can't recall the year of your car, so it might have already been performed.

Call me if you need to borrow/rent the tool for the job. You cannot 'freehand' it.

See pictures 33-37 in this web album for the process as it was performed on my car this winter: http://rides.webshots.com/album/559195095NmcKIV

There are weep holes present on the pulley side in the heads. Only one weep hole on the rear head for the intake cam, none on the exhaust cam. The carriers have a groove and no holes. It lines up with the weep hole in the head right, or does the carrier need a hole? 91 348 ts

You only need the hole drilled into the head.

I used ThreeBond when I put my stuff back together. But now I'm a HUGE fan of Hondabond. Anyway, I don't have any leaks. Use the Hondabond on both sides of ALL the gaskets. Don't go over board with the stuff, just a thin layer, enough so that it barely beads out. Then put a dab of it on either side of groove where the o-rings go into the head. Make sure you also put some on the rear cams gaskets. Do that and you'll be good to go.

The problems with the leaks is because of the poor design for the sealing up the gaskets. There are too many places for the oil to get by. That and, the way they had the original oil hole place didn't allow for the oil to drain out fast enough. So you should be okay with the groove at the bottom right by the oil drain hole.
