I've been hemming and hawing over a decatted exhaust setup for the new 348. A local friend has an X-Ost / decat on his 348 Spider, which sounds fantastic from the cockpit. It initially had me thinking of going the same route, but then heard online Tubi race, Capristo, and even Kreissieg sound clips, which got me thinking of other options that I had not yet had the pleasure of hearing in person.

Capristo, from what I can surmise via youtube, has that higher pitched wailing tonality when coupled to test pipes in the upper revs (moreso than the others it seems), which is the sound signature that I am looking for. Yes, it is one of the priciest options (even with some of the forum sponsor under-MSRP quotes), on top of already spendy competing pieces. However, I fear that anything else may end up being just a stopping point on the way to an inevitable conclusion.

So, I suppose my questions to Capristo-equipped 348 owners are; Sound Level 2, or the all-out Level 3? Was there anything else that preceded your setup, or in-person comparisons that can be put to words? Assuming that your ideal sound has that higher pitched wailing tonality, are you satisfied in that regard?

Anyone in the MA / New England area with a Capristo-equipped 348?

if you can go the Kreissieg route, there's nothing better than that....a close second is Cap Stage 3.......

Capristo, stage3, is one of the best sounding exhausts. It's quality is top notch too. However, however, it turned me off because it is too tight of a fit. You essentially have to squeeze it in between the bumper and the clutch pumpkin. And that's after removing the heat shield behind the bumper. The exhaust canister is over one inch wider than the original.

For a 4K exhaust, that type of a fit is unacceptable to me. I returned it and paid a hefty restocking fee.

I have a Capristo (Level 1 {I think}) on mine - it was on my car when purchased. The sound is fantastic - very thoroughbred. Absolutely wails when you lean on it but isn't obtrusive on tick over. Where it IS intrusive is cruising, droning in the cabin between a certain rpm band lower down the rev range - its actually quieter to change down a gear and up the revs.... or press on a bit more ;)
I haven't noticed any issues with fit or finish and don't plan to change the exhaust.... it sounds absolutely fantastic.

This is the best representation of the sound I have come across from inside the cabin:-

    Hi Mathew

I have a Capristo with decats. I actually contacted Capristo's representaive in UK via Capristo's website and their reply contains some useful info:

BTW If I was buying new I would absolutely and definitely without doubt buy it with the remote control kit so it can be muffled on demand. Seems like an odd thing to want to do but the noise can be quite wearing at the end of the day on a long drive home/some better halves would appreciate it/early morning starts dont annoy neighbours etc. Give yourself options if you can

I am running Fabspeed headers, test pipes, and capristo 3. The sound is nothing short of amazing, everyone tells me so, even my neighbors a mile away ;)
