My 90 has tan interior, but the carpet color doesn't match anything in the car or any picture of other 348s I have found. It's almost yellow in color and not tan. I'm not sure if it's just old and seriously neglected or if it came that way. I only have one the picture of carpet right now, but can take more later. If it was originally that color, then I'll just pull it out and clean it, but if it's not, then I'll pull it out and replace it.

I have read posts on here that indicate this is not unusual in older model F cars. My 1998 355 is TDF blue with Crema interior. The carpets are more purple than blue. I assumed they had been dyed for some reason, but from what I understand, these mismatches were common.

Easiest way to tell if it's faded or neglected is to remove the carpeted lower door panel which is the same colour as the rest of the carpet right?
That carpeted lower door panel slides under the panel above it and that underlap of carpet will never have seen the light of day. It's easy to do. I noticed a difference when I had to remove them recently when I changed my door speakers.

yes, most likely just faded. Pull off a panel or seat to reveal the true color which has not been exposed to UV. Carpet dye or spray is a good alternative to try before you go tot he trouble of pulling it all out. It's worth a shot if you are willing to replace it anyway.

I guess it's faded, but there's like 3-4 different colors. Very odd. The car is so filthy that I'm going to pull the whole interior out anyway. Not sure if I should try to re-dye or just replace it all.
