I recently purchased a set Tubi of catless "test pipes" to pair with the rest of my Tubi exhaust from Plugzit (thanks Plugzit they are gorgeous!), but I am having some hesitation about unleashing the beast and installing them on my car. I have been told from a very well informed friend of mine that it may effect the engine timing and cause fatal engine problems due to reduced back pressure in the exhaust. Is there a possibility that the reduced back pressure in the exhaust would cause the engine to run lean and thus raise engine temperature, potentially burning a valve?
Have any of you done this mod?
Do I need to do any modifications prior to installing these?
Any advice with regard to the actual installation would also be greatly appreciated.

Now you can hear it 1st hand. Been running with Tubi & Test Pipes for 3 years. Car runs WAY cooler than stock set up. Car runs much better and the sound is to die for. Not one problem at all. My shop installed everything and it went super smooth with no headaches.

Who told you that? You have got to be kidding? Myth, I say. Bolt them on and go. Not sure what you are gonna do with those extra O2 sensors... :)

I ran mine with tubi/decat for nearly 2 years without problems.

I have heard some pwopel say that removing the cats can cause loss of torque on some models. However, I believe some early 348's did not have cats as standard and were only put in due to legislation issues.

I've also read that early de-catted 348's had 300bhp, whilst later cat versions had 295bhp (excluding spider/GTS/GTB etc)
