Exactly how bright should the center console lights be?

The indicator lights I'm referrring to are: fog lights, parking lights, etc...
Right there on the top row of the center console. I can see mine when they are illuminated but it appears they should be much brighter?
Wondered if anyone else has thought about it...

    Hi Dave,

I believe I've talked to you on the phone about your Tubi and Challenge exhaust... as you may know, I've installed a Tubi and replaced the cats with Tubi test pipes and the car sounds awesome!

As for the center console lights, they're quite dim. I figure that this is typical for an old-school car like the 348. During the day, I need to look very carefully to find the dashboard indicator lights illuminated. Hell, even at night they're dim!

My center console lights are perfectly bright. Are yours any different in brightness from those on the insturment pod? The way those lights are powered is pure Italian crap (a thin film circuit board is used, and the lights basically rotate on the film until their poles line-up with the right place on the film. The instrument cluster in the center might be different, but those bulbs are probably easy to find/replace. You sure the dimmer isn't controlling them?

Try ajusting the dash light reostat on the tach side of the instrument panel.Reostat have a tendency to go bad when not turned.

    I have a dimmer? Yiipppeeee!

I wonder if I can get a different wattage bulb to match the ones in there...
I don't think think the reostat makes them any brighter..
