As you might know, I am working on manufacturing a tail light panel for the 348 that uses the 355 lights. I am a bit confused on the wiring harness issue. Right now, I am working on getting a plug-in "converter" harness manufactured that will result in no
"re-wiring" like you had to do - it would be a straight plug-in. This is going to be a considerable expense. However, someone here mentioned a while back that that the 550 light, while it looks identical to the 355 light, has a different connector that would allow for a direct plug-in with no re-wiring/splicing/converting.

If indeed the 550 light is configured differently from the 355 light and would be a straight plug in, this would save me a ton of time and expense, as well as lower the overall cost of the tail light panel.

What does the standard 348 connector look like now?

I remember that too... it was this guy ... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=195935
I would PM him for clerification on that, because everything ive seend shows that the 355,550,575,360 all have the same tail light part numbers.

I argued that point with him in that thread, but he still maintains his point on the 550 lights.

I will PM him. If I have to get these made up, it will add a solid $100 to the process when it's all said and done. Not a huge amount, but it starts adding up.

I guess if you didn't want the harnesses you could just splice the wires easy enough.

Its also important to note that all 4 tail lights have a different part number.
Its also rumored that you can use either inner & outer part number, on either side of the car... did that make sense?

I think as long as you don't get your outs in, or your ins out, you're all set. Did that clear it up a little?

Scott, thanks for the offer. I have come up with a "Y" shaped harness. The two "female" 355 ends, and on the other end is the "male" 348 part.

    Is that what you have?
