If you have to have one made - is there anyone with an OEM part that can measure the thickness so you can have it made properly?

Also, I think I recommended once before, and will again - cover this cover with the thick 3M stuff that's kind of "soft" - hopefully rocks and road debris would bounce off rather than crack the cover again. Yes, making them yourself will be plenty inexpensive (compared to the $191+ to purchase new), but you don't want to be doing that forever. And the 3M stuff is probably less than $20 for the materials - cut, apply, bing bang boom you're done! :)

I was considering the DIY route. Would like to have them but can't stomach $400/pair for ~$30 worth of plastic.

Thanks for the post guys, I have the other one, it's fine, and after 50K miles, and since 2005, they have held up well. So, I suppose I will have my friend Bobo make one if none are available.

I think that is how most of them raced, at least by 1996. Here is mine with front brake ducting instead of fog lights at the Texas Challenge Race in 1996.

Yes, correct (I was there... :) ). FNA allowed said modification during the first season (1994) as the OE underbody fiberglass brake ducting would get demolished quickly and had low efficiency. Driver/ owner/ teams lobbied for the modification and was granted post-haste.
