348 Challenge Seats: New Red Cover Source?

So the gent ive spoken with will sell the material, or donthe actual re-upholstery of the seat. He dowsnt want to make amd sell a cover due to quality concerns if not installed properly.

So here are the details.

Ken from Kenneth Michaels Coach & Trim can provide either just the red fabric material to you and you can have your seats re-upholstered locally; or you can send Ken your seats and he will perform the re-upholstery. He does not want to make covers and ship them as he is understandably concerned about the quality of someone else installing his covers.

Pricing is as follows:

Material Only: $1,236.00 for enough of the red OMP fabric for your upholsterer to cover a pair of seats

Re-Upholster Your Seats:
- $1,236.00 for material
- $3,400 to re-upholser the seats including new foam, the cushions, etc...
- $487.80 for the 348 Challenge embroidery.

TOTAL: $5,123.80.

For re-upholstering your seats with KM, he will give us a 10% discount on 3 sets, and a 15% discount on 5 sets.

Rather than me being stuck in the middle, I will provide Ken’s email below and leave it up to each of you to deal with him directly. I think he wants to get his material order in very soon, as he has another customer already proceeding on this with him. So my suggestion is at least let him know if you want the material right away, and then perhaps decide afterwards if you want his shop to perform the work or not.

Please post on here if you have contacted Ken and placed an order so we can keep track of how many orders he receives and make sure we get the appropriate volume discount if we get three or more orders to re-upholster seats.

Ken has my deposit, has ordered fabric, and my old covers and cushions have been sent to him. Ill post pics of the finished product in a few weeks.

Seats covered, one installed, the second one dropped into place but not yet installed. Probably bolt that one in tomorrow.

Does anybody know of a source for racing seat covers? As in to protect the seats.

I will still be tracking the car and dont want to screw up the new upholstery.

Seats are wider than normal I think because of the shoulder wings.
