    Folks,

I have been considering getting my grill chrome dipped. I got the idea from the new 599 and it looks cool and was wondering what you guys would think of it being on the 348. I took a pic of my car and drew in some chrome color grill lines to see potentially how it would look. I am believer of having everthing as stock as possible but, I think this would like sharp. Any opinions or does anyone have pix that they have done this? Thanks.

I'm out - it looks too much like the front of the 308/328 cars. Keep the black paint. There is no other chrome on the car. Ban the Bling! :D

Now, if u want to black chrome or powder coat it, I'm all over that.

Chrome is meant to give a car "flashiness". Take a '57 Chevy with no chrome, and you've got a pretty ordinary-looking car from the 50's. The chrome bumpers, trim, and wheels transform the car.

Ferraris have traditionally been so cutting-edge styled, there is no need for more "flash". The car speaks for itself.

    Chrome is overkill.

I might disagree. Take a look at possibly the best looking Ferrari (and the most expensive road car?) the 250 SWB Spyder. Lots of chrome and a seven figure car.

I say pull your 348 out of the 80's (blacked out trim era) and give the grill some chrome. My red 355 spider has a chrome grill and the Ferrari guys here like it. My Titanium 355 spider has the black grill. Now it looks borin by the chrome one.

It doesn't fit the 348, which is pretty chrome-free.

And the 328 has aluminium up front, not chrome.

If you chrome grill the front, then you need to find a way to chrome grill the side as well.
It looks unbalanced to have chrome on the front and ONLY the front.

I don't like it even though I love chrome on some cars (eg. Jags). I'd stick with the black grille which accentuates the chrome Cavallino.

    Guys,

Thanks for the replys....after taking in all the votes...I would agree to keeping it stock...after looking at the eBay car it was a bit too much...and those chrome rims are definlty NOT my style...this just reconfirms my thoughts on this car is that orginal is the best way to go...maybe a metal shield..some new car matts and Tubi is a pass but, its best to leave them be.
