    Thanks for the update Mikey.

Out of curiosity did he have them stiffen the diaphragm spring a bit more?

I'm guessing it's some sort of spring steel.

Would have to be made of spring steel wouldn't it?

The angle of the fingers would determine the "pressure" felt on the clutch pedal.

Ernie, I did mention to them to make it a little stiffer than yours, I did send the original one in for them to look at...I am assuming they looked at the original and tried to make it as close as possible.

Same material as the original, unfortunately I don't know what material the original is made of.

spring steel of course....if they had given a choice of specific material, there are several actually...typical is cold rolled spring steel, some already annealed, some not, if it has already been then i wouldnt necesarily advise further heat treatment

Great write-up Ernie. I have a question about your intermediate plate.
In your picture, it looks like one ear of a return spring is missing (see arrow). Is it just the angle of the picture or an optical illusion?
    Cheers.

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop? The world may never know.

    :D :p

Well, it obviously doesn't make much difference being busted anyway!
Glad to see my eyes weren't playing tricks on me!

    Cheers and happy motoring.

Let's just hope he remembers posting it! ;)

(I bet he can't believe it was that long ago! )

(BTW, I do agree though, it is an extremely useful thread to have as a reference - As are all of Ernie's threads! )

My post was a tongue in cheek response about the age of the original post and it's being brought back up again, it was nothing to do with the subject matter!

(I would NEVER -EVER say anything negative about anything Ernie posts - I have far too much respect for his 348 knowledge to even contemplate doing that!)

Then again, some think I'm an idiot.

All I know is that I don't know anything. There are some that will completely run circles around me, and can truly make me look foolish. The difference between them and I is, I share what little I know. What good is knowledge and wisdom if it dies hidden from the world?

Oh and, I got that you were being a smart ass. ;)
