Well, this was a video I didn't want to make. Drove 2 1/2 hours up and back to car show in Poconos, car ran like a top. Get home and give her a wash, but then she doesn't want to start. While trying to sort that out (still working on that issue) went underneath to look at the starter, and lo and behold: a torn CV boot too!!! Damn. At least I made it to and from without problems. Home's the place to be if something's gonna fail.
Anyhoo, boot is replaced thanks to the multiple threads on F chat. I did a video series on start-to-finish process just in case it might help the next person with the same problem. It's not super hard, but it ain't super easy either, and be prepared to get coated in black grease pretty much all over.
    If anybody needs the info:

Hey Mike, hope it helps. I'd invite you down to my place to do it, but you probably don't want to be driving 2 hours with a torn boot... but the offer is there. You will get greasy!! Also don't expect to zip over to the Porsche dealer to get those boots... they have to order them, or you can get them online. Autozone etc. don't even have the 930 in their computers.

None of the Porsche dealers had them in stock, so I ordered off the "interweb" as the Fast and Loud guy calls it. I got them from theautopartsshop and they listed them as w0133-1639803. I think I just Googled "1980 Porsche 930 CV boot" and their web site came up towards the bottom of the page. I'll give them credit that due to lack of patience on my part I put a rush on it, ordered it Mon AM and got them the next morning....only cost $20 extra.....peanuts in Ferrari Dollars. Hope that helps.
