Here are some pics of the adjustment of nonworking inside door handles in my '90 348.

Access is gained by removing the panel on the door skin as opposed to removing the inner door panel.
The section is held on by (4) T-25 Torq head screws, (1) phillips screw and (2) 11mm nuts. The nuts are accessed from the inner door in the area of the hinge.
Once you have the access, you can now view the cable latch assembly. In some cases the plastic clip is broken and requires replacement. In my case the cable had simply stretched. I tightened the cable by loosening the lock nut at the cable end and turning the conn counter clockwise until the cable had sufficiently tightened up. Then retighten the lock nut.

Since I was there and had access, I relubed the window rails.

Upon reassembly it is necessary to watch the alignment of the panel with the front fender. Tightening the two front 11mm nuts can result in pulling in the panel too far, thereby changing the original alignment and resulting in the panel scraping against the front fender when the door is closed. The tolerance is very, very close.........

My interior handle stopped working, I found this post among others when searching, the information in this thread is very accurate, removing the outer strakes is very straight forward and gives perfect access to the entire cable.

In my case the brown plastic clip had popped out of the handle, very easy fix. Will order a new one when I next need parts and keep it as a backup.
