Due to an excessive amount of play in the drivers door hinges I thought I had better service the pins and bushes. The play at the hinges appeared to be minimal but was amplified by the time it got to the rear of the door to probably 3-4 mm. Not good for alignment. It wasn't that bad before I cleaned up the old pins and bushes but removing some corrosion and general crud from the pins seems to have created play. The pins measured 8mm on an unworn part and just under where they run in the bush.(Wear). The bushes had worn slightly oval too when measured. You don't need a lot of wear here to make a big difference.
The bushes are very light in weight and non magnetic. Non corrosive. Possibly titanium??? The pins are just good old plated steel I'm sure.
I did this job with the hinges totally removed but I'm sure you could do it by just removing the pins, pull the door and leave the hinge halves in place. (Recommended). The bushes are in the door side and could be pulled back in using an long 8mm bolt and appropriate nut and washers.
Anyway, this may be of use to someone.

1..New door hinge kit. One side.

2..Old pins and bushes. Position as fitted to hinge.

3..Removing old bushes with an appropriate punch. Go in on a slight angle as shown. I
supported the hinge withe a 17mm socket to keep it strait and let the bush fall through.

4..Pushing new bushes in with a vice. WD40 helps.

    5..Fitted bush.

6..Plenty of grease down the hole.

7.. Complete hinge assembly with pin retaining clip fitted.

    8.. Pin retaining clips.

9.. Hinge supported with socket for bush removal.
