Sorry for this I'm sure it's been covered a 100 times but I've been reading 348 clutch threads all day and just can't read anymore.

So my 91 348 should have the dual disk clutch and I was wondering if there is much that needs to be changed to convert it to a single? Can I just slide out the dual clutch pack and slide in the single?

After getting my 348 this summer and 3000 miles of ownership I was driving it to this work hitch and the clutch started slipping bad. I got most of the way back home but my daughter had to bring the pick up on tow me back the last 28 miles. I didn't have time to look at it since I had to get back on the road to get here for work. 7000 miles and the 355 has not let me down yet. Knock on wood.

Anyway that was a week ago and I have a week left before I go home. Just trying to get my head around what I want to do. The single set up seems to be more available and a lower price. So...

The swap entails a bit more. Plugzit knows. I think you need a pressure plate, but the flywheel remains.

Thanks. I was looking at new flywheel, pressure plate, and disk sets. I'm planning to just change it all which ever way I go. Hopefully some one will chime in with what else needs to be done.

Can a guy retro fit to a 355 setup? I see those are even cheaper.

The friction plate on the flywheel is different on the single and double. Everything else is straight swap.
