348 E7 Air conditioning Error Code

I searched through the archives and could not find and good concise method to diagnose what the hell is going on here. I had this error code several years ago and replaced some part via the shop I use and was fine.

I brought the car in to have the catalytic converter ECU changed for a 1-4 slow down light and within 2 minutes of driving away from the shop BAMN E7 and the A/C unit shuts down. WTF!!! It didn't happen for four years and then all of the sudden right after it comes back to me I get the error. Weird coincedence since he didn't do anything on the car really but change the cat ECU. This really irks me.

Anyway. can anyone point me in the right direction on the next steps for diagnosis.

Im wondering if the AC needing a recahrge would have anything to do with this??? air was not very cold coming out of the vents for the few minutes it worked...

 

thanks. I removed it all once before to clean the deteriorating rubber on the center console. I can remove it again and test... thanks.
