I have lots of turbo experience but little with NA. Most change on turbos goes with ecu changes. I am unclear how sensitive changes to intake exhaust is for NA cars. I imagine if you decat, tubi, implement low restriction intake you should probably get a canned chip or tune.

I suspect lesser changes may only require ecu reset. Again I am not familiar with NA car sensitivity and it seems changes would all be mild since it is tied to VE and presumably ecu reset is enough so here it goes.

Take a stock 348, add K&N filter and remove MAF screens, still has oem cats and muffler, is resetting the ECU enough for it to learn more air coming in and adjust fuel? Until one deals with cats and exhaust, at least?

    Thanks

It should be ok. I don't think you will have much choice with the standard ECUs. Very limited tuning potential. There were chips available but Im not sure these days. Its always worth checking the MAF settings with an ohms meter too. They can be adjusted under the plastic bung fitted to the MAF bodies. Mine is a euro 91 and are set to 383 ohms which is factory spec for that year. Ive decatted mine and just did a reset and it worked out fine. Others here may have some ideas.

Leave the MAF screens in place, and throw in the K&N if you wish. The computer will figure it out over time. It’s a small factor. Once you start playing with exhaust setup, larger injectors, intake setup, cam timing, etc. you may want to look into an chip you can tune yourself. Just my opinion.

    As a reminder, just don't oil-coat the K&Ns.
