Funny thing happened to me the other night. I was driving along enjoying the beautiful evening when all of a sudden my instrument lights and tail lights go out! Headlights remained on. What the hey? Anyone have this happen? My first guess is a fuse. Next I have to look for it. Pull out the manual and sorry, I must be stupid, but I haven't found the culprit. Anyone?

I sold my 348 last year, but there are fuses and relays in a couple of places. Under the passenger side floor board there is a fuse box and relays. In the trunk I think the passenger side under the carpet there is another fuse/replay panel. Your problem does sound like a fuse or may be a relay. Good luck! Do you have the 348 repair manual with wire diagrams and fuse location? If not you can get the CD for <$50.
    Ciao,
    Jim

It sounds you may have had a connection come loose. I would look on the back of the instrument housing.

There are two screws that are on the botom corners of the housing. Remove those then, grab the sides of the housing and lift it straight up. You may want to put the stearing collum all the way down to give you some more room to work with. Then when you have the housing off look at the connections on the back to see if any has come off.

Now if everything checks out fine there than go look at the speedo/tachometer connection in the engine bays coming from the tranny. It is on the left hand side of the engine bay looking in from the rear. You will find it between the shock tower and the charcoal canister. Make sure the connection is clean and connected properly. You will also want to look at the connection on the bottom left hand side of the trany. You can get it it better from up under the car. Same deal for this make sure everything is clean and connected. You will also want to look for busted wires.
