I've removed my centre console and dash/binacle to do a little cleaning and fixing. However, I wanted to test my rear brake lights. When I press the brake, nothing happens. In fact, when I insert the key, nothing happens either. The car battery appears to be dead. I've verified that the battery cut off switch is properly 'on'. Now, is my battery really dead or does the car stop to work if you remove the dash and centre console? Please advise. J
On my 348 Spider, the key has to be in the Run position for the brake lights to come on. Also, for the 3rd center brake light to come on the rear engine hood has to be closed. If you've got nothing, then you've probably blown a fuse while hitting some wires together or to a ground (e.g. metal support bar) while fiddling with the center console...easy to do with the cigarette lighter wires, by the way.
