Hello, After last drive I made an aggressive shift from 1to 2 and It looks like I broke one of the mounts, as it is really really hard to shift gears. So my question? -where are they located -which one brakes most often -where can I get them (from which KIA do they fit) -are there powerflex versions on the market Cheers
Are you SURE you broke an engine or gearbox mount? It happens, I am just curious how you checked them? Considering you dont know where they are?
Well it happened on last October. I don't use the car over winter as we are required to drive winter tires from Nov to March (by law and if you get pulled over you have to pay aprox, 200 ) and weather is not friendly (snow and ICE) therefore my 348 hibernates those 4 months. I just left it and now it is the time to prep for next season. I am sure that I broke 1 of them, because shifter became really hard as probably engine moved and screwed the shifting cables. I just didn't find the time to put the car on the lift and take everything apart (so I was wondering if someone has some experience with this issue) Well I will lift it and let you guys know. Cheers
Ok man, interesting. Are you sure you just didnt damage something inside the gearbox? I would place a trolley jack and a piece of wood under the middle of the engine pan and jack it up slowly. You will see if you have torn an engine mount and which side its on. Can you select gears easy with the engine off?
