Does anyone have a fairly organized list of tools required in-garage to do an engine-out? Thanks, Nate
Not very organized, but here goes with a few: 348 head bolt tool required Large crescent wrench for oil lines Drift punch for subframe bolt alignment Socket for crank pulley bolt (can't remember size) All the usual metric wrenches, sockets, etc 3/8" drive universal adapter (there's one in the 348 tool kit) dolley for subframe at least 2 floor jacks, 4 jackstands I've found that the motorcycle jack from Harbor Freight is helpful Fluids pump from HF will help keep the floor clean I'm sure there are more...
You will also need a 10mm hex or allen, 12mm hex or allen, 19mm hex or allen - these aren't necessary for the engine pull but for the tranny oil and engine oil change
If memory serves me correct, a 32mm impact socket for the crank pulley bolt, an impact wrench with at least 350ft/lbs of reverse torque, and an air compressor to run the impact wrench.
Ernie-san, if you're referring to 104919, it is a 28mm ring nut. -Daniel "too many merlot already tonight" san
3.5 glasses down. Mrs. just cut me off, and was a bit of a pill about it. I think its becuz Luca and I was roasting marshmellows on a candle in the dining room.
the proper way to remove the crank pulley bolt is to "wax-on, wax-off"......still one of my all-time favourite movies.
