    Sports Exhaust = what???Xtra BHP???Much more noise?

Tubi = what?Large dent in wallet?

I've driven a 348 Spider with (non-Tubi) sports exhaust, and one with a std exhaust. Both cars had cats.

The std car sounded v quiet - too quiet for a Ferrari to my mind. The other one sounded much better, but nothing like some of the cars I've heard. Chaa's decatted capristo'd 355 for example sounded awesome by comparison.

I've seen a couple of videos of decatted tubi'd 348's, and both sounded amazing.....really good. I want one :)

No idea about extra bhp, but I'd bet money that you won't feel any difference - other than a psychological effect through having more sound.

BUT...I am certain that such cars will be too loud for tracks like Bedford, and will also draw unwanted attention from the boys in blue.

Btw, Benzino, where in Kent are you?

Like I posted on the other thread Jas - you are going to be so pleasantly surprised :D

Rule of thumb, and most people agree. Capristo for 355 - Tubi for 348.

You MUST get rid of those heavy ceramic cats and put the test pipes on. It is this and not the exhaust that gives you the extra 20bhp, taking you to 340 on the Spiders and 320 on the TB and TSs. Without the cats the engine seems just a whole lot more free and willing to rev.

The Tubi back box weighs about a third of the big original box.

The sound of course is sublime. I have sent Jas a clip of me going off against a Porsche GT3 at V.Max. You can't even hear the Porsche! Did you get it ok in the end Jas?

The Tubi and test pipes, fitted by either Verdi in London or Strasse in Leeds (Manu at Scuderia arranges all this) is about £2100 all in. When the guy says to me, "if you don't like it I'll give you your money back PLUS £200", you know you're onto something pretty special.

On a motorway run at say 2500 revs at 70-80mph the exhaust just hums away quite happily, not too intrusive. When you open it up though.... spine tingling!

Any one wants the vid clip email me your email address. I also have rather a smart clip from Sunday, but that is 10M, let me know if your email can handle it as some can't.

I think the Capristos sound even better than the Tubi, but for the 348, they screwed up the design, and it appears to hang very low...way too low. If they ever fix that, I would say for you to consider a Capristo..but for now, Tubi is the way to go.

Jas....a 20bhp max xtra aint imo gonna make a lot of difference!...Although i spose the xtra noise will make it feel quicker.

What about a performance filter???I take it that in conjunction with a free flowing exhaust would be a good combo.

    Phil,

Yes, that was my own thinking on it. A fairly heavy car with a 5-6% increase in bhp - I doubt I'd feel it. I mean it's only 12bhp per ton more.

On the other hand, I think you might just feel a slight difference in your other car!!! :)

ok guys, the clip of Ferrari v Porsche is one it's way. I don't think there is any point trying to send the 10M one, I've tried about 3 people, inc. Jas and it keeps getting bounced back as too big.

AH! Chaa, even the 3meg Porsche clip has been bounced back from you as mailbox allocation exceeded!

Kevin... looks like someone's been having fun on that junction!? Is that from all the times you DON'T have the wife with you :D

    Thanks anyway for trying :)

btw, Chaa, it's looking more likely I'll be collecting my car from Verdi's and not Derby.

Plus it might have to go back to Verdi's for the Tubi at a later date. Karl is still trying but has not sourced a Spider Tubi so far - it seems it was the non-spider one he had :(

So, we'll do the back to back sound test, but it won't be yet.

Actually that was Costa on the board here in his date's 996 cabriolet, and my wife says when she gets HER 996 cab (trade up the Boxster S prob. January) she wants Costa to teach how to do that...

So go long on Pirelli shares....

    Cheers
