Was just looking at the radio/cassette fitted to my 348 and noticed it was an Alpine brand. My car is 1993 RHD model.

Have any of you guys owned your 348 from new.

What was the correct factory radio brand fitted to the 348? I'm beginning to think my Alpine is after market fitted.

I could be wrong, but I think I've heard 348's didn't have a factory radio option. So they're all aftermarket. Again, just something I've heard....

Most new Ferraris were, in Europe, anyway, equipped with Becker units. Nothing to be sad for if that one is missing out, because it sounds terrible. :)

Pretty sure there wasn't a 'factory' standard fit, at least in some parts of Europe. The purchaser generally specified what they wanted, or car was supplied with blank panel clipped in place (I have the blank that was supplied for my car).

Mine subsequently had previous owner fit a crappy Kenwood POS.

I believe the car was not fitted with a radio or an antenna. Which is why you see all kinds of antennas all over the place as well.

Thanks for the4 advice so far.

FWIW my 348 does have a fine lined radio aerial located in the windscreen so this would have to be factory supplied.

The two 95’ 348 Spiders I’m familiar with both have the antenna in the windscreen and have Alpine CDE-7820 radio’s but from what I’ve read on this board the radio was an option installed by the dealer. I “believe” there was not one standard radio.

I'm going with what most have said, didn't think there was a standard unit. Got to say that 8 months after I bought my car there was a thread asking about radios. Had to go to my car and check it had one and that it worked as I hadn't to that point. 18 months into ownership and still haven't actually used it, not sure I'd hear it with my exhaust anyway.

Lol....we are both on the same page. I have never had my radio on in 8 years of ownership. I like listening to the exhaust and engine going through the gear changes. My Alpine radio/cassette unit is covered by the vinyl cover so you wouldn't know the car had a radio unless you flicked the cover up.

I was just curious when I happened to flip it up the other day and noticed the Alpine unit which I believe is USA brand.

The new 458's have top-of-the-line Harmon Karden stereo units I believe, befitting of the quality of the car.
