Well my sunday afternoon project went pretty well.
The front side markers of my 1991 US spec 348 did not light up when the park lights were activated using the stalk. The front, rear and rear side marker lights all came on with the stalk. The front side marker lights only purpose was to flash with the turn signals.
This did not look right to me and when i asked the question on here was told that it may have been modified.
I jacked the car up and took off the driver's side wheel and removed the wheel well panel as well as the under body panel. Now i was able to see the wiring going to the back of the front foglight/marker/signal module and the front side marker. Everything looked completely stock to me ... but i decided that i prefer that both front and rear marker lights come on with the stalk activated lights. To me it looked like the front side marker bulb was burnt out when i had the lights on.
I traced the two wires coming from the foglight module to the front side marker and cut them. I then spliced the wires into the two wires going to the front marker light.
Now the front markers, the rear lights AND all four side markers come on with the stalk switch AND the front side markers blink when the park lights are on or off and the turn signals are activated.
The passenger side at first seemed like it was going to be really tough getting to the wiring due to the a/c unit being in the way.... but i was able to perform the whole operation by removing the foglight module and working through there!
Maybe i could have done the driver's side that way and saved some time?? Not sure... but it is done now!
Now i think that it looks right.
