Hi, this just happened on the last drive i did...

When I parked and turned off the key, my fuel release actuator turned on, causing the door to open. Powered back on the ignition, closed the door. Holds fine. Turn off the car and the actuator pops the fuel door again.

I did notice that the mech that releases the fuel door was pretty hot, so pulled the fuse and it obviously stays shut now... But any ideas on the problem? Simply a bad relay/fuse on the passenger footwell fuse box?

The switch on the console works fine, and doesn't appear to be stuck. Not that that's even the issue, as without the ignition on, my fuel cap release doesn't operate normally... only when the ignition is on.

    Thanks in advance.

Only a F car😉.....turn off the motor and the fuel flap opens....

    Sorry..but it made me laugh

I'm sure it is something easy to fix....ground wire somewhere...or just the relay is shot

Sounds to me like the wrong relay has been installed in position "p". I don't see how it could work backwards? Probably not a good idea to have an overheating soleniod right next to the fuel cap, I would leave the fuse out until you find the problem. You always have the backup release cable in the engine compartment.

Make sure the cable in the engine compartment is pushed all the way in.

Thanks for all the advice. I checked the manual cable when the problem appeared, and the cable operates normally / correctly. (i.e. pushed all the way in) and worked correctly once I pulled the fuse.

It's not an issue of a relay being in a weird position, as the issue happened at the end of a day out, and the problem wasn't there earlier in the day.

I'll check it out again in a week or so when the weather gets back to humane temperatures.

In the mean time I'll give Daniel at RA a call and see what the damage on a new solenoid and/or relay is. I assume the cost on these parts will follows the official Ferrari pricing guidline structure...

Take the reasonable price for a part, double it, then add a ZERO. =]

Lol that should be my signature.

    Thanks guys.
