Lowly Mondial t owner tapping into the seemingly limitless pool of 348 expertise out there:- Can anyone provide a definitive list of the European (production) 348 GT competizione mods compared to a standard late GTB? As far as I know this extends to Further engine / ECU mods taking power above 320bhp (in addition to tall intake plenum) ? Various carbon fibre components inc sills, door components + ??? Different undertray? Various other weight saving items ? GTC 18" 3pc wheels Red cloth 1 pc seats (similar to F40?) Different steering wheel centre Piccies would be nice! Is there a quoted weight saving for the GTC - I think a standard GTB weighs in at 1400kgs Finally, has anyone ever accounted for the 8 UK RHD ones - have seen 1 or 2 beauties gracing the site from time to time... So if you've nothing better to do on a Sunday morning, get to it !!
Most, if not all of the owners of the RHD GTC's are members of Club Scuderia and there is quite a long thread going on over there about/with them.
Do a search here also they have been discuussed a length. There are no US versions of the cars. They were 50 or 56 cars produced depending on who's source you use all for the Euro market. regards, Vern
The 348 Competizione LM's had the F40 half-shafts, 9000 RPM rev limit, and 8 throttle bodies instead of 2. At least one of those LM's had cams that were different from normal 348's.
I think Chris's question was related to the 348 street comp. cars produced by Ferrari for the Euro market only, not the Michelotto Comp. cars. Anyway the Michelotto cars didn't have a different intake plenum from the late Euro 348s that had 2 throttle bodies(not 8). In fact the engines looked like std 348 units. They were quite abit different in weight also, I think the Mich. cars weighted 2640 lbs. compared to 3050 for the stock Euro 348.
Nope. 8 throttle bodies, not 2: http://www.landshark.com/348Lemans.html That's why you have 8 tb's on your 355.
Misread your post thought you were talking about general cars that michelotto built they had the same induction as std 348s. Actually you have that turned around the 355 was already designed and set for production by the time LeMans was run in '94 so its probably the other way around the LM cars probably benifited from that system because of the 355. I would like to see pics of those engines to see what the system looked like.
