The fellow who sold me my 328 three years ago has had a very interesting history with Ferraris. For one thing, at one time he owned the famous 250 GT Sperimentale, 2643GT, which many consider the prototype of the GTO. Now he has built a very interesting car, and here is his story of it:

"I was at the factory in 1989 and saw a group of drawings of a proposed 348 GTO. Later someone told me the FIA changed the rules in the class and Ferrari scrapped the car. I found this car that had belonged to Bob Norwood {the turbo EXPERT} that had been pumped to 785 HP, and decided to build the car I had seen so many years ago. Wow, what a car. Less then 1000 miles on the engine so I am being careful, but it sure acts like an F40. Use it on chat, I would be very interested it getting opinions. Do you want more pics? I'll send a couple more. It's for sale, but don't ask me how much, having too much fun."

Are the slats/canards on the nose effective or just for looks?

Lower it and get rid of the fog lights and she'd be just about perfect. And wouldn't it be a bit more of a handful than an F40? Ferrari hasn't made a production car with that much power yet.

    Awesome car.

This is just my 2 cents: I'd take off that wing, lower it a tad (looks high in the front) put on a set of Speedline's and off with the stickers. Perfect! ;)

Interesting design! Are the slats and rear wing the only cosmetic changes to the exterior?

My sentiments exactly, the 288 GTO did not have a wing and was the better for it. I'd lose the silver along the side as well.

No, side pod's were redesigned,355 wheels. By the way , wing and front spitters work great. It's steady as a rock at 190mph,and seems to get about 2 or 3 inches lower. One reason I didn't lower the car more.

As to the wing, the drawings I saw at the factory had one,and as to the silver on side, in person it sets the car off just right. I owned a 288GTO along the way and I loved it. This car is faster. Trebor

    As for the styling, ppppppppppppptt!

I wanna see the dyno sheets. Not that it isn't possible to put out that much power via turbos, but I call BS. Especially on the "GTO" story.

I think the car looks great.

Does the back end still have the grates, or has it been converted to 355 tail lights?
