348 guys you need this

Does your estimate include cost to convert from cable to linkage shift.... Seriously though, FBB, weren't there also other issues to making this change? Haven't searched yet for Andy's original thread, but I recall seeing it before. Good find!

 

That seems expensive,seeing as you still need the flywheel and clutch,starter motor,you need to fabricate a manifold to go over the drive shaft,you will need to get the sandwich plate machined to line the hole up,also need to fab a linkage rod,and get gearbox mounts made up as the 348 one hangs the 355 sits,but once all thats done its easy,and you then have a bulletproff engine matched with a bulletproff gearbox. Easy.

 

Is the 355 gearbox really that strong?

 

What??? The King of the NukeProof 348 box recommending a 355 box? Say it ain't so!

 

I'm sitting here flipping through Corky Bell and Jeff Hartman (Norwood's) books right now. There was some crazy talk about a 348 turbo project a while back, just can't seem to get it off my mind...
