    Hey guys,
Offered a good condition 348, hard top, has done about 10000 miles, it's a 1990 red EXT black INT.
Other than getting it checked by an AUTHR ferrari dealer, what advice could U give me to look out for when inspecting the car? And how much U think it's worth if it was in good mechanic condition?
    Thxxx,,,

Where are you located? Try finding a specialized Ferrari shop that's known in the community to do your PPI.

There are some things to look for....request service records, when was the last major service done? Was the waterpump ever replaced? Does it have the Dayco or Nippondenso alternators? Does the car have 'sticky' interior pieces?

The PPI will most likely answer most of these questions for you.

Also, if you can see the car in person, make sure to check if the check engine lights are on or off or not coming on at all. There are 2 check engine lights on the bottom of the cluster that should come on for a bit then go away. If you don't see one or both, then something is up I would say.

Lastly, make your decision based on how you feel in your heart about the car. If you don't feel it's right then it's mostly likely not.

If you want my personal opinion, the car only has 10k miles which means in my eyes it's not a driver's car and the maintenance could be more than you would like it to be to get it back to where it should be. But a PPI will confirm or deny this notin.

I used these guidelines when looking for my 348.

Also, search YouTube as well. I saw a couple of 348 buyers guide videos that helped me out on what to look for.

Good luck in your search! :)

x2...do your research before opening your wallet. a 20 year old car w/ only 10K miles seems to be an attractive deal for most. However, the car may have some issues due to it not being driven and/or properly maintained. 'Time' in this case may or may not be the enemy.

a proper PPI will reveal what's important. Be sure to use a certified Ferrari tech

Hard to say without pictures and more info but I'm going to say $60K on the high side with clean title and clean car fax. Could be as low as high 20's if salvaged or other bad things.

$60k? If it's a SS then yes, I would agree, maybe higher for a Challenge, but not a 348 TS. Maybe high $40's/Low $50's for a TB.

Early cars have issues sorted out through the model line. I check for personalized updates and maintenance. Price can be anywhere but $60K is way too rich.

Thanks for the detailed answer. I live in Saudi Arabia, the car is in Saudi too. I totally agree that a PPI report would answer a lot of QUESTIONS, but over here, if an old car has been "played with" out side a certified dealer, chances are nearly impossible to track that through the history file of the car at the dealer ship I guess, also keep in mind older models can be very tricky to assure mileage is exactly what it reads. Thanks again,,,

Asking price 40k, but I guess I could shave down 4 or 5k.
