The nice folks at Ferrari of Central Florida came to pick up my recently purchased 348 on the 17th. Bought the car over a month back, last service done by FoCF in October 2000 so it was definitely time.

Drove it a few times, but after a visual inspection of the belts (which I had hoped would encourage me to wait until the Fall for the major), I decided to go ahead and get it done. Hope to get it back soon!

Needless to say, it's been a LOOOOONG weeek... Obligatory pictures attached.

In the meantime, here's a link some of you might enjoy:

There are a lot of "too fast too furious" kind of videos on here, but also a fairly good selection of Ferrari related videos. I especially enjoyed the one pitting several stock, late 90's era cars (NSX s, 355, etc, 550) against each other on the Suzuka.

edit: And before anyone says it, yes, I realize the rear wheels are on backwards. :)

    NICE CAR!!

When is the car due to be completed? Heck, mine's been in since June 1! Granted, the guy told me he was backed up when it went in, and he's the only one that works on the cars (indepedent), but sheeeez. 7 weeks and counting?

Just had my major service done locally in Palm Beach county and it was in for about two weeks. The work actually took about four or five days, but I had some A/C work and a few other miscellaneous items taken care of. Nice 348 BTW!

    Thanks for the compliments.

Estimated time for completion was "about a week." In fact, if I had driven it to the dealer last friday, they said it would have been done today.

I thought about driving it over, but decided against it. After spending months on Fchat I now find myself waking up in a cold sweat each night mumbling about cam belts while visions of demonic, little-bent-valves dance around my head. Would have been a real kick in the groin to get half way to FoCF and snap a belt, so I played it safe and had the car trailered. Yeah yeah, I'm a chicken.

As an aside, apparently FoCF runs a pick up /delivery service over a large portion of Florida. Not sure what it costs for out of area, but it was very reasonable for my 45 mile trek.

I know it's silly, but I think it's funny that the girl across the street is more interested in her dog then a Ferrari sitting only a few yards away lol

Actually, she is a very nice woman and fairly car-literate. Came over and asked about it earlier in the day during the marathon cleaning and detailing session.

Did have one neighbor ask me if it was an MR2 though. Hehe.
