I have a 1992 348, I removed all the smog equipment. I cannot get the compensation diaphram to work. The tubing is connected from the diaphram to a tee, one side goes to the small vacum tank and then to the soleniod valve located (5-8), the other side goes to the opposite soleniod valve(1-4) do I still need the soleniod (1-4). The soleniod on (5-8) has 3 inlets 1 goes to the vacum can 2 used to go to the exhaust manifold (I blocked that one)and the 3 I don't know what to do with it. I just want the Intake compensation to work can someone help.

Go to www.the348.com and you should find there a diagram for the vacuum routing and wiring. Shouldn't be too big a problem to find. Good luck!

Well so long as you still have the tube going to the control diaphram, under the plenum, connected to the solenoid, you should be okay. Keep in mind that the compensation valve doesn't open until you are at about 3,200/rpm, if I remember correctly, and only stays open until 5,200/rpm. Also make sure that all of the vacume tube coming off the back of the plenum is to the vacume can, located on the left side of the subframe under the air box.

You can see a picture of the vacume tube routing here. http://eurospares.co.uk/partTable.asp?M=1&Mo=434&A=1&B=23645&S=

One more thing, make sure the electrical connection for the solenoid is plugged in.
