Just for street driving. I need a new set and it looks like there are choices. You can find some really cheap. I see a set (all 4 pads) from Advance auto parts for $19. What do you guys recommend? What's going to perform well?

Porterfield seems to be the performance pad of choice.

Porterfield R4S for the street, or Axxis Deluxe Plus for the street.

    Porterfield R4 for the track.

I ordered the RS4 pads from Porterfield. Funny when I spoke to the dealer they said there are two types of calipers for that year (brembos vs Teves) and the pads depend on which you have. Maybe they were quoting me the price for the calipers as it was really high.

If you have 348 brembo calipers the brake pad selection on a 348 are the exact same as what I use on my Porsche 944 turbo. I'm sure this may open up the selection of available brands a bit including better pricing options. I do suggest hawk or pagid brands because I used these on a much faster turbo with great results and both vehicles are close in overall weight. 2950 vs 3100lbs.

100% agree. Who knows what you will get? Not enough stopping power, take too long to warm up, wear really fast...

So it looks like there are two types of calipers I could have. Teves or Brembo... Yet when I ordered from Porterfield they did not ask me what kind I had. All they wanted was year, make, and model. I was on the phone with them too. The dealership asked me what calipers I had. How can I tell which ones I have?
