Anybody ever remove the screen's on both sides of the MAF meters for better flow? or is that a bad idea. I'm thinking of a K&N air filter also any suggestion's is there better ones out there.

    Thanks

I honestly dont think there would better airflow or any gains removing them. But thats just my opinion. ;);)
    K&N would be a nice touch. :)

Yup. My MAF screens are removed, and have been for 2 years now.

No adverse effects noticed/experienced to date.

There was a thread on this subject a long time ago...I can't seem to find it at the moment but the general consensus was 4% better airflow without the screens.

I've got a spare MAF so if having the screens off shortens the MAF life then it won't be a big deal to correct.

Still driving her daily, so if anyone should experience a problem with a 348 mod, then it should be me.

Thanks for all the info guys, Think I well leave my on there was little portacullis of leaves in the screens and somebody before me must have drove the car with no air filter.(smart) With a 4% more flow it would be safer to keep them in.

    Thanks
