Yeah I'm going to B.A.T. mine with all the Challenge spare bits I have and doubles of seats etc when ready. Just need to get it all in one place for a pic with a drone.
NOPE not ready and NOTHING will be separated. See it on BAT when it happens :)

You made my day - as late last year I bought a nearly identical but lower mileage (18k) one for 63k plus fees. It does need a major, but that ain't gonna cost 60k.

    WOW!
Nice to see the Spider and all 348's for that matter getting appreciation. I have the twin to this Spider with just a few thousand miles less. Been in my family since new. kinda got me thinking maybe time soon to let it go. That said, not too much out there that floats my boat as much as this car that won't coast a bunch more and probably won't have a proper gated shifter.

Now that the oldest 355s are just about antiques my money is on the 348 being an easier old car to own.

I also think 348s are better looking in person. The camera isn’t kind to the 348. It belies its width and drama.

I’m back in the market and searching for one again. I’ve been considering the 355 and 360s too. Want a Spider, Rosso Corsa on Tan (of course). I should have bought a few years ago. Ugh. Still some nice examples out there though.

    cheers

@SoCal1 , how expensive is a 348 challenge to maintain as a track car? I'm slowly getting back into club racing after a decade hiatus. I haven't found a good 355 challenge at a price I can stomach. I would suspect the cost entry point of the 348 is better. but how is maintaining it?

Isn’t a 348 Challenge far more rare (and presumably more expensive) than a 355 challenge?

About the same as the 355. I have both
About the same reliability, brakes etc.
I prefer the 355 on the track

Yuuup 355 prices are insane going higher but it sure is a blast to drive all day on the track

I figure its just a matter of time for it to take off. Ferrari is pumping them as the original street race car and with so few. I kind of put mine aside for that reason

Thinking of putting away both 355 ch and grab a open wheel car to play speed racer with LOL

Well here is an interesting SS that just popped up. Has a lot of flaws but is really complete (notice the emergency light in the glove box) down to a set of luggage that is not really talked about in the overview. No major since 2003, a completely sticky interior, and "after market" wheels in addition to the originals being chromed. They say it needs plug wires which is a polite way of saying the engine runs a little sour. It looks like the sellers really don't know what is there.

Engine bay looks horrendous. I am surprised they took those pictures and advertised it looking like that. Doesn't take much to clean it up

I wonder how long it was under water. Looks like a bit of mold on the seats and who knows where else. This is a rough car.
