Today I was given the ultimate insult about my 348. Parked it outside my house and a neighbour who is into cars wanders over and has a good look and says........... "I never noticed that 355's had slats down the side!" It's also been mistaken for a Testarossa and the garage that sold it to me, told me that someone had asked if it was a Toyota MR2. Anyone else have the same problem.
You live in a country where things are cheap. My dealer told me as a joke about the current prices that a new mirror for my 348gtb costs over $ 1.200,00 ! What a life. I am saving for the beltchange for next spring. : - (
I pulled in for gas and an icee last night and there were 4 sheriffs gathered around my car. This soon attracted an even larger crowd of civilians. Turns out one of the cops owns a Porsche Boxter in red/tan and she wanted to know how the Boxter compared to my "Testarossa." Oh brother. Took me half an hour to politely chat away the on-lookers. In a Ferrari, even getting gas is an adventure!
My nextdoor neighbors' 6 year old came into the garage yesterday while I was cleaning my 348TB and he said, "Hey, I like your new mustang." Needless to say, he has not gone for a ride
Same here my friend, a lady asked who's Mustang this was when I parked the 348 at the tennis club, and a few weeks ago, a kid said nice Corvette!! Oh well, it happens, oddly enough to a lot of people the name "Ferrari" just isn't a common brand. Stephane Scaledetails
He will probably never forget when I "never" give him a ride and that will remind him that it was a Ferrari Wait, that is mean and is not me. I can't expect all other kids to know exotic make and models like my 5 year old! Goes to show you the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree. LOL!
What do you mean 355 v the bloody 348. Dont asume that you can punch out side your weight, little man
When I went to the DMV a few months ago, the guy at the counter asked me what make of car I had. I told him it was a Ferrari. He then said, "No No No. Not the model. The make. Who makes Ferrari"?
One reason I'm glad that I wound up with a 328. About the only thing that people mistake it for is a 308, and I have no problem with that. At least no one has ever mistaken it for a Mustang/Corvette/whatever. Thank you, Magnum and company!
I think you should take him.Theres nothing like the excitement and wonder expressed by kids when riding in hot cars... and no he'll never, ever, forget what kind of car he rode in, he'll be thinking of you the day he purchases his forst hot car... I know. I was one of those kids, and now, taking my little nephew on rides just revolves the cycle once more...
With the Tubi exhaust and the Hyperflow cats on my 348tb, no one mistakes my car for anything. It screams!!! Ferrari!!
I will! I'm not that mean. In fact, probably would take anyone who wants a ride in a non powersteering, hard clutch, worst daily driver, real "MAN's" car Ferrari ever made Enough with the 348 bashing .... all Ferrari's are just that .... Ferrari's. I am proud of my 348, no matter what model is better or worse!
